Book Review: "Autobiography of a Recovering Skinhead: The Frank Meeink Story as Told to Jody M. Roy, Ph.D"

A good read to gain an insight and understanding into how individuals, particularly in the case the youth, are attracted to and recruited into extreme right-wing, neo-nazi movements. Perhaps the most appalling aspect was how Frank Meeink never had any empathy for the pain he caused to his victims. It was only with the revelation that he could have actually really hurt or even killed someone that Mr. Meeink began to re-evaluate his "politics." A necessary read for all progressives to better understand an enemy that is determined to eradicate anyone but themselves.

In particular, this letter is addressed to the President of the United States of America, who has seemingly wrested all power and authority from our elected representatives, but whose decision will decide the fate of nations, including our own. Movie Reviews: Wendy and Lucy, War, Inc.

Recently, on Thom Hartmann's radio program I heard about the 2009 Progie Awards.  The Progies recognize features, documentaries and filmmakers for their outstanding achievement in promoting human rights and providing a voice for people of color, women, the working class, immigrants, gays, the environment and against war, censorship and political repression. In other words, these are the most progressive movies of 2008. So, in the months to come I will be providing reviews of some of these movies.  Wendy and Lucy The first movie I watched was Wendy and Lucy - a story about a homeless woman, Wendy, and her dog, Lucy. This wasn't a great movie, but not bad. It's really about a few days in the life of a homeless person, who is trying to move on with her life.
